| Saltidin®Technical InformationRegistrationEfficacyVectorsApplicationsRecommendationsLinks & PRContactFAQ | Registration Saltidin® is an active substance and therefore subject to regulatory oversight in most countries of the world. Before formulated products can be marketed, either the active ingredient, the formulation or both must be registered in accordance with the national legislation in force in the country. Depending on the country, insect repellents are covered by the legislation that regulates pharmaceutical products, cosmetic, hygienic products, biocidal products or insecticides. Saltigo has an extensive package of toxicology data for this active ingredient. It has been used to register Saltidin® successfully in over 40 countries. The active substance has been evaluated by the EPA in the United States, where it has received regulatory approval. The situation for insect repellents is undergoing major changes in Europe following the entry into force of the Biocidal Products Directive (BPD). Saltidin® has been notified to the authorities and registration is expected by 2010. In addition to these two major markets, the emphasis now is on expanding the registration basis for Saltidin® in Asia, South America and Africa. Our goal is to make the product Saltidin® available to all consumers worldwide. Here please find the global registration overview.
